Original dies are restored to the highest exacting standard using 21st Century technology, extensive knowledge and first-hand experience and expertise working with original pressed metal material to create a perfectly authentic product. Preserving and restoring Australia’s unique heritage architectural features has gained significant importance in recent years and advances in technology have made this attainable and cost effective. Australian Pressed Metal are fortunate enough to own the original pressed metal dies from South Australian manufacturer TW Inghams, the last remaining original pressed metal manufacturer left in Australia, saving them from the same fate as the original Wunderlich dies. Thousands of original Wunderlich metal dies were destroyed back in the 1950’s along with the metal dies of another NSW manufacturer Anthony Hordern Embossed Steel Panels. Both companies were bought out and ceased production of pressed metal products when heritage features were not as highly prized as they are today. Australian Pressed Metal are custodians of a collection of original Wunderlich, Anthony Hordern and TW Ingham literature and catalogues from early 1900’s providing a wealth of heritage information and reference.
