Scope of Contracting Works: 

Restoration and installation of pressed metal ceilings throughout the Hotel as part of major hotel refurbishment. Two new dies were produced, Clarence Corner and Clarence Border, to repair original Deco pressed metal ceilings.

Project Description: 

The Sydney Pressed Metal Team travelled to Northern NSW to work on the re-installation of pressed metal ceilings to the heritage listed Tattersalls Hotel Armidale. The historic building was remodelled in the 1930’s in the Art Deco style with pressed metal ceilings installed using Art Deco inspired designs. Sydney Pressed Metal restored mutiple rooms to their former glory including The Chancellors Room, design used was New Deco, The Governors Room with designs Clarence, Carence Border  and Clarence Corner used. In the foyer the design New Deco was used on the ceiling and in the stairwell a combination of Clarence, Clarence Border, Clarence Corner and Roughcast Tile were used. Several new dies were produced to complete this project including Clarence Border and Clarence Corner to compliment the Clarence panel and Roughcast Tile which was used as a border panel.
