Ceiling bays and centre rosette
Sydney Pressed Metal repaired and restored the original pressed-metal ceiling and architectural features in the Jubilee Room at NSW Parliament House. The published project scope records work across 14 ornate ceiling bays and installation of a reproduced centre rosette made to match the original design.
The Jubilee Room was built in 1905 by Government Architect Walter Liberty Vernon for use as the Parliamentary Library. During the project, rust and decay were treated as part of the repair and restoration of the ceiling bays. A mould was cast to match the original centre-rosette design, and the reproduced rosette was installed with the ceiling repairs.
