Choosing a brass or copper appearance

Start with the application

Tell SPM whether the finish is proposed for a splashback, wall, ceiling, soffit, bar, reception area or another feature. The location and use affect which material and finish system may be suitable.

Select the pattern and visual direction

Use the gallery to shortlist a pattern and the appearance you want to explore. Include the relevant image or page URL in the enquiry. A photograph is a visual reference only and should not be treated as an exact material or colour sample.

Confirm the quoted material and finish

Do not infer whether a gallery image shows solid brass, solid copper or another material and finish. Any expected variation, patination, coating or maintenance requirement must be confirmed for the selected quoted system. Supply-only availability for a brass or copper configuration is project-specific. Detailed public care guidance remains deferred until SPM has an approved care document.

SPM’s published David Jones project records repairs and additions to the original copper soffit linings, reproduction of the Gravelstone pattern in copper, and individual treatment of new copper panels to coordinate with the patina of the original material. This project demonstrates verified copper work but does not establish the construction or finish system used in every image on this gallery page.

Are these panels made from solid brass or copper?

SPM’s published David Jones project includes treatment of new copper to coordinate with the original patina. Matching remains project-specific and requires review of the existing material, target appearance and any sample-approval process included in the quote.
